FIFA World Cup 2014: Germany vs Brazil First Semi-final Match in Pictures

Goal, Goal, Goal, Goal, Goal, Goal, Goal, and Brazil’s Day Goes Dark

Germany won the first semifinal of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in a match that was a resounding defeat for Brazil with a score of 7-1.

Brazil's defence in Tuesday's match proved to be like a wall of sand, and the team showed a disappointing performance overall in the absence of striker Neymar and captain Thiago Silva.

Losing the match by such a big margin was completely unexpected and a huge blow for fans all over the world.

By the time the match ended, many in the stadium could be seen weeping.

The fireworks began at dawn. All around this city, loud pops and bangs rang out as men and women and children, so many dressed in yellow, set off flares and beeped car horns. It was supposed to be a magical day. The Brazilian national soccer team, playing at home, was one game away from a World Cup final.
