Bleak future for Dartmoor ponies as value plummets
Children ride ponies in an equestrian centre in Orgeres, western France. The French government's plan to raise the Value-Added Tax (VAT) for equestrian centres was published on November 13, and will take effect in January 2014. French Equestrian centres will no longer benefit from the reduced VAT rate of 7% and will have to provide services while including the highest VAT rate of 20% in their prices.
