Artifacts from Hildesheim Cathedral are on display during a preview of "Medieval Treasures from Hildesheim" at the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York on September 16, 2013. Hildesheim Cathedral in Germany, a UNESCO world cultural heritage site, has one of the most complete surviving examples of church treasures in Europe, including masterpieces made from 1000 and 1250. Renovations to the cathedral have made it possible for 48 art works to be presented at the Met.
