Tourists throng the Sun Temple at Modhera some 100 kms. from Ahmedabad on May 10, 2013. This temple dedicated to the Hindu Sun-God 'Surya' and was built in 1026 AD by King Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty. Nearly 1000 years old Sun Temple at Modhera is currently without a main idol and at present prayers are not offered in this temple. This temple is now under the supervision of Archaeological Survey of India |
