Asia Cup 2014: Team Sri Lanka defeat India in 4th match
India scored 264/9 in 50 overs, and then Sri Lanka chase down the 265-run target with four balls to remain at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, Bangladesh. Sangakkara was man-of-the-match for his 103 runs.
Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara thrilling century to help Sri Lanka win the match. After 3 quick wickets in the middle of their inning, Sri Lanka were in trouble. But Sangakkara kept Sri Lanka in the game. He got out after completing his hundred. India missed the chance to tie this game when Thisara Perera was dropped by Shikhar Dhawan in the last over. This was Sri Lanka's second win in Asia Cup 2014. In last match Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 12 runs. With this outstanding victory Sri Lanka comes on top at point table with eight points.
Earlier, Opener Shikhar Dhawan missed out on a century by six runs as spinner Ajantha Mendis returned to haunt India by restricting them to 264 for nine.
India managed to score 264 runs in 50 overs. They were, at one stage looked comfortable to cross the 280 run mark with ease. But Sri Lanka bowled well to restrict the run-flow during the last ten overs; especially in the power-play where they conceded just 28 runs. India lost 3 wickets between 31 to 40 overs.
